“Lindsay is a phenomenal writer. Her writing for better mental and physical health course is gently life-changing and brought me back to writing for myself after years absent.”

Kay, attendee, 2023

Hi friends,

I can’t wait to meet you live this evening (if you’re in the UK or Europe, otherwise it might not be evening!) for the first of our sessions on this four-week run. Come along comfy with something warm to drink and your favourite writing implement. The paper’s not important; save your favourite journals for other thoughts, scribbles and projects.

Tonight, we learn a bit about the Pennebaker Method and settle ourselves with a few gentle, guided exercises. There is no obligation to contribute to the discussion (or even have your camera on!). The most important thing is that you are making time for yourself to acknowledge feelings and events that might sit at the more challenging end of the spectrum. Despite the thought-provoking nature of this work, you’ll leave the session feeling calm and centred and ready for the next part of your day. You are in safe hands.

If you want to read a bit more about my facilitation experience, head to this post:

If you’re looking for a bit more on what it feels like to write for yourself in this way, head to this post from last week:

Face the fear and write it anyway

Face the fear and write it anyway

What I’m saying is: don’t avoid yourself. The story that comes calling might be your own and it might not go away if you don’t open the door. I don’t believe in writer’s block. I only believe in fear. And you can be afraid and still write something. No one has to read it, though when you’re done, you might want them to.

Don’t worry if you can’t attend live: drop me a DM and I’ll make sure you are sent the replay and resources each Wednesday.

If this post has whetted your appetite, then I’d be delighted to welcome you into the Membership. Hit the upgrade button below and unlock the Zoom joining details…
