Tom tells Helen he’s being offered an extended leave. Details his plans for how they should appear together in public as a nearly-married couple.

18th April 1946

Helen’s been struggling with their separation and the lack of sleep she’s been experiencing. Knows it’s playing havoc with her moods. She is decisive, though, about their wedding plans.
