Episode Twenty Eight: Containment

Can Lindsay bring herself to reveal what really drove her to therapy? Is is safe 'to be real'?

“This is stunning. Memoir is such a fascinating genre isn’t it? And you write it brilliantly.”

Clover Stroud – author of four memoirs including the Sunday Times Bestseller, The Giant on the Skyline

Hi friends,

Welcome along if you’re new here; it’s so lovely to have you. On Wednesdays, I release a new audio episode of my memoir, Held in Mind. You can catch up here:

In this episode…

14th October 2020

Following a break in therapy, Lindsay recalls how her own thoughts spiralled following her mother’s surgery. How she is coming to understand her health anxiety as an external manifestation of the distress she tries to bury about her mother’s situation.

15th April 1946

Tom tells Helen he’s being offered an extended leave. Details his plans for how they should appear together in public as a nearly-married couple.

18th April 1946

Helen’s been struggling with their separation and the lack of sleep she’s been experiencing. Knows it’s playing havoc with her moods. She is decisive, though, about their wedding plans.

22nd October 2020

Lindsay is pondering containment in her second online session of the day.
